Starting at the beginning again.
I’m trying to get some of my research and findings in a more readable and easy to navigate format. I think it might also be a good time to sort of start back at the beginning and work my way back into the past again.
So I’ll start on my paternal grandparents and sort of work my way back up both their trees, one generation at a time.
So I’ll try and get my pages for my grandfather, Gilbert McClung GILLESPIE and my grandmother, Ann Irene FEAZELL a little more up to date.
And I’ll also try and be a little more dilegent about posting in my blog!

I am the administrator of the Gillespie and Macpherson DNA Projects at Family Tree DNA. We are looking for a Gillespie male to take the DNA test that directly descends from George Gillespie of Amherst Co. VA through the male line.
Recently we tested a Gillespie family that lived in Franklin Co. TN in the early 1800s near the descendants of George of Amherst. This DNA tested family is a match to the families of Thomas Gillespie and Naomi Thompson of Rowan Co. NC, Col. George Gillespie of Limestone, Washington Co. TN and George Gillespie of Lancaster and Washington Counties in PA and Warren Co. Ohio.
The Franklin Co. TN family we tested descend from James T. Gillespie who went missing in action during a pre war of 1812 skirmish in Alabama. This wife Clarkey/Clarissa and their son John H. Gillespie then moved to Franklin Co. TN near the family of George Gillespie. We have been unable to tie the two families together via local documents. We need the DNA of the family of George Gillespie of Amherst Co. VA to know if they are related or not.
We need the DNA results of the family of George Gillespie of Amherst Co. VA to see if he will also be a match to the families listed above - or a match to one of the other 21 family groups defined by previous DNA test results.
If you are in contact with a Gillespie male descendant of George Gillespie of Amherst Co. VA will you please contact me? The DNA projects test the Y-DNA of males so the test participant must be a direct male descendant of George Gillespie and must have been born with the surname Gillespie. The DNA test is simple - just a few swabs on the inside of the cheek.
Respectfully,
Connie McKenzie - Gillespie and Macpherson DNA Projects Administrator
